What does it mean to be a public assembly facility? The Civic Center last visited us in 2009 and things have changed since then! Robyn will discuss the Civic Center’s new way of “doing business” as well as the positive economic impact being made as a result. She’ll also give a glimpse into the Civic Center’s upcoming lineup!
The Roanoke Civic Center continues to be Western Virginia's premiere full-service facility with a 10,500 seat Coliseum, 2,151 seat Performing Arts Theatre, 14,000 square feet Exhibit Hall, and a new 46,000 square feet Special Events Center. Live entertainment, including sporting events and cultural and concert performances by some of the biggest names in the world, continues to excite and amuse audiences all year long.

Marie Muddiman, Executive Director Roanoke Valley Interfaith Hospitality Network
This informative session will include a presentation and discussion about the changing face of homelessness and the daily challenges faced by those in poverty. You will also learn about Roanoke Valley Interfaith Hospitality Network, a program comprised of 25 congregations and over 1000 volunteers who provide temporary housing and meals to homeless families so that they might return to independence through temporary shelter and skills development. The Network is a mobilization of faith communities, an extended family of deeply committed volunteers.
