In terms of this post and Radioshack Soldering Tips…Radio Shack a lot of you most likely think the shop has been gone for years after all the business declared personal bankruptcy in 2015 and closed most company-owned stores a few years later on the key word there is company-owned stores dealer shops that were owned by independent company owner stayed open among them happened to be within a half and an hour drive at my area new holland pennsylvania amish nation here’s some shots of the outside of the radio shack what i truly enjoyed is how the structure kind of looked like an actual shack here’s the inside of the radio shack it looks exactly as i remember basically any sort of electronic or accessory can think of this store probably has the very first wall contained a lot of cb radios and antennas the wall behind the counter held batteries and battery chargers as a few of you most likely remember to the right of the counter was a wall with some antennas including the infamous antenna i inform people not to buy but they buy it anyway for those of you who are not familiar with what i consider this model here is a brief clip this model it’s scrap scrap
What happened to RadioShack? Radioshack Soldering Tips
scrap this piece of junk [Music] the design was in fact set up outside and hooked into a tv set i went through the channels and just as i expected it was not getting the abc affiliate whtm which transmits on the vhf band this antenna model is known to not carry out well for vhf what’s so paradoxical is behind the buildings were some truly great older antenna models regardless of my criticism of this antenna design i can understand why the owners choose to offer and show it it’s smaller sized and more consumer friendly the average person doesn’t want a huge antenna on their roofing despite the much better efficiency or in this case getting the harrisburg abc affiliate the next design over had walkie-talkies and some diodes the next design had practically any sort of av cable television and adapter possible this used to be my favorite area due to the fact that i’m also a wedding event videographer and lot of times i would go to a wedding and forget a particular audio cable needed for the microphone throughout the ceremony and there ‘d constantly be a radio shack nearby i might stop at sadly that’s no longer the case another aisle included fuses battery ports and a bunch of wires here’s a wall of transistors and would you believe accessories for mounting an outdoor antenna mounting brackets amplifiers and even a rotator as i continued down the same wall there were video cable televisions and devices some two-way radios phone wires phones themselves and mobile phone accessories including this really cool bluetooth cassette adapter it can’t be a radio shack without radios take a look at all of them designs in the middle of the store had vehicle stereo accessories speaker wire ethernet cables computer system cable televisions blank media and whoa blank cassette tapes at this radio shack i can actually buy a cassette deck record onto a blank cassette and if the heads get unclean
